Weddings at Hartwell House
Hartwell House provides a magnificent setting for weddings and receptions, standing in 90 acres of
parkland with a lake spanned by a stone bridge, a ruined church and many 18th century statues and
garden buildings.
We are able to offer a variety of wedding packages from the smaller, more intimate wedding party
using one of the two private dining rooms in the Main House, to a Civil Ceremony followed by wedding
breakfast in the Hartwell Rooms.
If you wish to hold your ceremony at Hartwell House, the Hartwell Rooms provide an elegant setting
and will be available for your sole use from 10.00 a.m. to midnight on the wedding day.
We are able to accommodate a maximum of 60-seated guests for your wedding breakfast, and up to 90
for a stand up fork buffet.
If you do require music during the ceremony and wedding breakfast this can be arranged, and if you
require live music and dancing at your reception then this is also available. A dance floor will be
laid and music could continue until midnight, and for those guests wishing to stay overnight
following the reception accommodation is available on an individual basis in the nearby Hartwell
Court.
For the smaller wedding party we can offer the use of one of our magnificent drawing rooms in the
Main House for your reception drinks followed by the wedding breakfast in either the Octagon or
Doric dining rooms. The maximum number of seated guests in the Octagon dining room is 24 and in the
Doric dining room 36. The reception would be from 12 noon and the wedding breakfast can be served
up to 2.00 p.m. on the day or alternatively a reception from 6.00 p.m. with an evening dinner served
up to 9.45 p.m.
Our Head Chef, Daniel Richardson, has produced a variety of wedding Bills of Fare for you to choose
from and these can be varied to suit your specific requirements. The excellent selection of wines
compliment a high standard of cuisine, and we can particularly recommend our own Historic House
Hotels Champagne and House wines.
Hartwell House has its own resident florist who will be happy to advise you on your complimentary
floral arrangements to match your wedding theme, and any additional requirements you may have.
We can also offer assistance for booking Live Music, cakes, photographers and transport.
As you will see part of the facility fee covers areas of the hotel grounds which may be used for
photographs and may include the Hartwell Rooms, Hartwell Court garden and courtyard, a group shot
in front of St Marys Church and for the bride and groom photographs by the bridge and lake using
Hartwell House as a superb backdrop.
We are unable to book the Registrar on your behalf and if you intend to use the Hotel for your
ceremony, you will need to contact the registrar direct with your preferred date. Please note,
however, that you can only book your date 12 months or less in advance.

To make this special occasion outstanding, you could reserve bedroom accommodation on your wedding
eve and make use of the Hartwell Spa where you will be able to pamper yourself with a variety of
Health and Beauty treatments.
Alternatively why not reserve The Old Rectory, Hartwell, set in two acres of private grounds with
four bedrooms sleeping up to eight guests, with its own outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and
personal staff.
For a really memorable event you could take over the whole of Hartwell House for the exclusive use of
your guests. We can accommodate up to 90 people staying and dining in the house.
I trust you will agree that Hartwell House offers various options to suit all, and we shall be only
too pleased to discuss your requirements in person. Please do not hesitate to contact me, Michael
