Ascott House and Gardens

National Trust owned 'Old English' Manor House of black and white half timber, dating back to 1606

While staying at Hartwell House take the opportunity to visit other National Trust properties including Ascott House.

Ascott House is thought to date from 1606 when it was an old farmhouse. However, it has undergone many changes since being acquired by the Rothschild family in 1873. The house contains an exceptional collection of paintings, fine furniture and superb oriental porcelain.

The extensive gardens have an mix of formal and natural with specimen trees, shrubs and beautiful herbaceous borders.
